Weber State University offers in my opinion the best possible education in Utah for budget. The amount you pay at Weber is so much lower than any other school in Utah. Less stress about finances allows you to actually learn something from school. I highly recommend anybody and everybody who wants an affordable school that is still fantastic to check out Weber state.

It is a great place to go. It has amazing professors and an awesome environment. You always feel safe no matter where you are and it feels like you really matter as a student. Our football team is insane and always a blast to watch. Football might be my favorite sport to watch that we have. The basketball games are also so fun to go to. In case you are wondering Damien Lillard came from Weber State.

Weber State University is affordable, culturally diverse, and full of opportunities. The teachers try their hardest to help students learn, and there are many resources available to help struggling students. There's plenty of quiet places to study, both indoors and outdoors. The food is...pretty good. It's got nothing on what my mom and dad can cook, but my mom and dad are both phenomenal cooks so I'm a little spoiled when it comes to food anyway. The Wildcat store has nearly everything you need, from school and office supplies to laptops and tablets to textbooks to hygiene products to organizational help, and even snacks to eat on the go. There's loads of clubs; if you have any interests at all, you're almost guaranteed to find a club that fills your niche. The performing arts department is phenomenal. They frequently host job fairs to help students find more ways to pay for tuition. They've got a plethora of student housing options. Every student has access to free healthcare, free public transportation, and so much more.

Weber is a nice alternative to both the University of Utah and Brigham Young University. It’s not ultra-conservative like the Y, and it’s not nearly as expensive as the U. There is a lot of diversity among the students as well. There are a lot of international students, as well as POC. Although there is a decent LDS presence, it is not constantly shoved into your face. Most of the students I’ve spoken to are either agnostic or LDS. Not having to abide by a dress code or “honor code” is ideal and allows for freedom of expression, both within and outside of the classroom. The teachers are friendly and most are easy to find during their office hours. Class sizes are relatively small. There are several satellite campuses throughout the state, with the Davis Campus in Layton also hosting the NUAMES Early College high school students. The most common complaint about Weber State University, at least at the Ogden campus, is the limited amount of parking. It’s nearly impossible to find parking on the main campus if you arrive between the hours of 8:30 am and 2pm. Many students end up parking blocks away and hoofing it to class. And parking services is ruthless with their ticketing. Weber State is built into the side of a literal mountain, so there are about 10,000 stairs. You’ll definitely get your steps in every day here.

It was my goal to finish High School early, while completing as many College courses as possible. If i could go back, I would focus on getting more College courses completed, therefore bumping me a little more ahead in my current courses. Having said that, i have made the best of my prior schooling and looking forward to studying hard and earning the diploma i have always longed for.

It is a working student school. A lot of the students are non traditional...they have spouses and kids and work 40 hours per week in addition to attending school with full loads. I also attended the Univ. of Utah for 3 years and it was not student friendly at all. I am much happier at WSU.

  7. What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?

I wish I knew more about what was required to get a bachelor's degree. Some of the credits I have may not transfer. Also, the program I'm in won't accept certain classes because they're not at a certain level (i.e. 300 level). I also wish I cleared up any outstanding issues. As a result, a miscommunication between myself and the program director, I ended up having to fly to Utah from Hawaii once a month instead of being able to move there.
