It is way different since I am from Las Vegas (west coast), so everything is new but the experience I have here so far is amazing and I love everyone and everything here. I love to play soccer here as well. I came in thinking I would not like it here because it is so new but it is the opposite, I love it and I have so much fun with my friends whenever we go out and the school part of it is amazing as well, great experience so far.

The overall cost of attendence for the school is too overpriced for what is provided. Dorms that flood, food that is barely edible, and the overall town the college is in, makes it hard to go do fun activities off-campus. I find it hard to stay at a school that cares more for putting up new benches on campus instead of using the money to help improve dorm rooms and other buildings. As well as upgrading unnecessary parts of the school, then firing majority of the professors and cutting programs that students are in. This school has made me more depressed and harder for me to focus on school when there are many arising issues that keep coming up.

Very good school. Professors are really involved and the small campus provides a safe feeling as well as a fun one since everybody knows almost everybody. A lot of sports and Greek life! The location in the West Virginia mountains means that you are always close to a beautiful location to do outdoor activities.

For me, West Virginia Wesleyan College is home. Don't get me wrong WVWC has issues, but these are issues you'll always hear people talk about on campus. After being here for three years the food gets bland, maintenance almost never does their job, there's issues with transparency in some of the staff. Those are just some of the "bad" things. Some of the good things on campus are: your teachers are always there for you, you'll make great friends, if you're interested in Greek life they are almost always doing something, the locals are great, if you don't have a car and need to get to Walmart the college provides a shuttle, and so much more. I truthfully cant explain my love for WVWC. You have to visit to get a glimpse of the experience.

West Virginia Wesleyan College FAQS

  1. What is the Acceptance Rate at West Virginia Wesleyan College?

The fall 2020 acceptance rate for West Virginia Wesleyan College is 77%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

In hindsight, there are several things that i see would have helped me in adjusting to college life. For one, the food. I would have made sure that I was used to less appetizing foods. But despite all that i could have prepared myself for, if I got the opportunity to go back and give myself advice, i would not take it. I believe that everything happens for a reason. If i had been better prepared then i would not have gained knowledge from the valuable experiences that i have had. For example, if i would have known that my roommate would be a bit talkative, i would not have learned how to deal with someone with a more chatty personality. Also, if i would have been aware of the lack of heat in the dorm rooms, i would not have learned how to be resourceful in desperate times. The experiences that i have been through in college have taught me more than i could have imagined; more than mother could have told, and more than a text book could have shown. I would not be who and where i am today had i not gone through what i have.

  4. What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?

I wish I had none how hard some of the subjects and classes were before college. Going into college, I wasn?t prepared for some of the material and challenges of college that have now become benefits. This college takes a lot of work to succeed in; but it?s extremely rewarding when you can look past the black and white of an issue and further analyze it. Going to this college has really opened-up my mind to different possibilities in my life that I would have never considered before attending it.

The greatest attribute of West Virginia Wesleyan College is its small size. This quality creates a friendly and personal atmosphere that may not be achieved by larger campuses. Professors strive to know each student?s name and to engage students in classroom discussion; thus students are enabled to better learn their materials. Campus staff such as cafeteria and shop employees are also enabled to form relationships with students. This personal relationship, however, is not limited to faculty. Students exhibit immense respect and kindness due to their familiarity with one another. Such qualities conjunctively create a unique "homey" atmosphere.
