What attracted me to Westminster College is that their economics department teams up with the business school. Several colleges like to throw economcis with the social science department. This is unique because the Economics department at Westminster provides views that are not purely profit driven, there is more then making money, but they are rational and understand that good intentions do not change the world. It is when you can find where these two areas meet that one is the happiest.
Westminster offers amazing education to all their students.
Westminster is fucking sweet.
If you're a socialite, Westminster is the place to be. The connections you make here are great, and there's always stuff to do. We're close enough to the U campus that you can get involved in activities up there as well if you can't find anything to do near campus, which is unlikely. It's a wet campus and (although not officially) 420 friendly.
Westminster is a great school. If you are looking for small classes, an active social life, and a fantastic education this college is perfect. However, the food is terrible and over priced.
The most liberal college and a conservative dessert.
nope. it's awesome. come join us!
Attending Westminster College has been among the greatest experiences of my life. I highly recommend this school, especially if you are seeking an Art, Nursing, Psychology, or English degree (did I mention how fantastic the professors are?).
Westminster's a pretty good school if small is what you want. I honestly couldn't imagine going to a school as big as the U of U
I really felt like I obtained a great education at Westminster College. It was incredibly hard and they expected alot out of the nursing students. We wrote two to three papers a week and had a thrity to forty page papers due for every class we took, but I felt it was well worth the work I put into it. I feel very ready to take care of patients and to take the NCLEX.
Westminster can be the perfect choice for many people. If you are an outgoing person, love outdoors, environmentally friendly, open-minded, and wanting to challenge for your self and others. Come to Westminster college. Just beware that transit sucks here if you have no car, because Utah feels that people should not be out late so shut down half of the bus routs. Many restaurants, stores are closed on Sundays. Also there is very little diversity here, so if you are wanting to see a variety of culture there is very little in at Westminster and the surrounding community.
Westminster needs to listen to their students!!! There are a lot of extremely bright students here with really good ideas. I don't think its fair for those ideas to go unheard. There should be an easier and more productive way for students to voice what they would like to change on campus. I realize there are certain rules that would make a lot of the suggestions impossible, but there has to be some middle ground that can be met.
I love this school.
I absolutely love it here! After I graduate, I'd take any kind of campus job just to keep coming here. :)
Campus can seem creepy at night but relish in the silence, there's nothing to be afraid of.
Being a small school just a few blocks from The University of Utah is really a good thing. You still get that feeling of being at a big school, but you can really escape it whenever you need to. Both schools have social scenes that spill over into eachother.
If you get the money to come here and it doesnt hurt your wallet then it is a great opportunity. As the cost of Westminster increases however, it is harder to figure out how to continue paying for it. With the amount of classes people take, having a job and going to school may hurt grades which may lead to less scholarships. Some people have figured this out and are very good at balancing such things but if you are not one of them, you better have the money or maybe this place is not right for you. When you break down the pros and cons the only con that really stands out is price in my opinion.
I love Westminster College!!
Overall I like Westminster but they could do more to support students who are not studying science and students who are not of caucasain or asain background.
I love Westminster and everything they have to offer! The education program is GREAT!! all of the professors just want to make you into a great teacher, teaching you not only the material, but also giving you ideas on how to approach the topic for different grades! I love it here!!
Westminster is the school where you will get the education of a life time without sacrificing all the fun you are supposed to have during your college years.
Some of the teachers are very strict Mormans and if you cross them your screwed. Very unprofessional program
The food is absolutely horrible. One company has a monopoly on all the food on campus, and all the freshman are forced to get a meal card (~$3000). As such food is overpriced, and the option are limited, and very unhealthy.
If you ski or snowboard, come here
At the end of Spring semester when you are so sick of regular classes, stick around for May Term. It's a 3 week period of fun, different classes that you get credit for. If you're registered as a full time student during eith semester you get free credits towards taking May Term classes. It's a good time.
Come to Westminster!
Westminster is a great fit for anyone. There is never a shortage of activities to do, and the education is unmatchable.
So far Westminster has provided the academic experience I was hoping for, but definitely not the social life.
The cafeteria food gets old fast.
nope
Bottom line, Westminster is one of the BEST private (this means the state government does not have their fingers in our business) colleges on the west coast!
We have an amazing comminity. We are in a great area of Utah to experience everything.
A great school yet it is too expensive.
Lot of kids from out of state, lot of ski/snowboarding, really nice people, you can't walk across campus without seeing someone you know, and the knowledge you get is definitely worth the price. I'll be sad to see this place go when I graduate, and I don't think I will, since I'll be back on campus a bunch for various events/guest speakers.
GO GRIFFINS!!!
I LOVE WESTMINI!
Its a good school
SO much fun.
If you love to ski or board, Westminster is for you!
Will definitely prepare you for success in a career, but the school is becoming crammed with all the new students entering as freshman.
I would not recommend Westminster to my worst enemy at least based on my experience in the BBA program.
Parking is a joke,
if you like beer a lot, utah is not the place for you
The classes are small. You get to know people nad the faculty in your program well! Its more personal and the instructors care about your learning and success.
They have small class sizes a small campus and it is a private school.
Consider Westminster College. I applied with no seriousness about Westminster, but I eventually landed on attending and I couldn't have been more happier at any other college. Westminster was definitely the right decision for me!
We have a very low student to faculty ratio and that is very helpful when you are in a challenging class and need extra help to understand a concept or finish an assignment
Our school is extremely diverse for being in Salt Lake city and I love it, I have met so many people and it is one of the few schools with no out of state fees which makes the ratio of instate people to out of state people 50{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c}! So many cool people with great backrounds it makes it all the more special when you meet people that are from the same state you are from especially the same city!
In addition to small class sizes, Westminster has a very available and intelligent faculty. There is much time to consider multiple angles/solutions to proposed problems and actually discuss them one-on-one with your professors. Getting feedback before handing in a major essay is detrimental not only to your grade, but to the assimilation of the learned material into the vast planes of memory.
Honestly, the school is great for anyone looking for small class sizes and a unique learning environment. It's on the expensive side, but comparable to similar private institutions. Most students have some kind of financial aid or scholarships, and aside from the rare incompetant person, most of the staff/faculty/administration are very helpful and accomodating.
