I live that they gave me the chance to go to school their so very greatful and happy that they took the time out their bizzy day to recinize that I needed toi have this opportunity
It is a great school! :) I'd say in general about 95% of people are very friendly and helpful. That includes both teachers and students. But an especially big shout out to teachers and staff, they really do their best to assist others who are struggling, confused, etc. Whatcom has a good atmosphere. Thumbs up!
The staff and students are kind, open-minded, friendly, and supportive. It's a small campus. It's easy to get involved and make friends, but you have to put yourself out there.
The teachers seem very nice and helpful, the campus is well-kept and clean. Everyone seems to be in a good mood overall. The staff is very helpful and willing to go out of their way to help you, though you do find a few that are not as willing to help. The students seem pretty inclusive, not exclusive, and the groups are very mismatched and don't judge everyone. You can fit anywhere.
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Whatcom Community College is 100%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.
The advice I would give myself would be to tough it out! I dropped out three months before graduation just so I could work and make money. I didn't think that I could go to college because my family could not afford to put me through. However, if I was shown what options I did have and could actually go to college with financial assistance from the government I would have continued through school and went to college right after high school. My experience at the community college I attend has been amazing, and because I stuck with it I will be graduating in the spring and transferring to WSU! For a lot of students when they get to high school they are ready to be done, after all they just spent the last 13yrs in school so getting through high school can be difficult. My experience at Whatcom Community College has prepared me for the university level experience having been out of high school for 6yrs. The transition of getting back into school was easier than I had anticipated!
Primary focus is either running start students (high school students attending here to simultaneously recieve collge credits and high school credits) and on transfer students, such as myself, who wish to transfer to a four year college.
My school is best known for setting students up for successful transfers to four-year universities. It also offers an outstanding study abroad program and a Running Start program for high school students that allows them to earn college credits tuition- free.
If you make and keep enemies--don't come. You'll be bumping into those people more than you (or they) want unless you contrieve your class schedule to avoid when they might be on campus. Don't come if you want big city attractions--Bellingham is only 67,000 people.
Whatcom Community College is unique simply because of the atmosphere. Not only do I feel like apart of the school while I'm there but I feel good that I am receiving my education in a fun, safe environment. For being a community college, the campus is fairly large and there's room for everyone. This way we still have a feeling of being at an actual university, along with sporting events to participate in. Plus students can live really close to the school or with parents without having to worry about walking a great distance and being late.
Student-teacher ratio is one that allows individual interaction (if the student desires). I've had teachers here who have been more than willing to work with me outside of class even answering questions not directly related to the current topics of classroom study. Most, if not all, staff and faculty I've dealt with have demonstrated desire to see students succeed--providing their part of an ideal learning environment.
Diverse in all forms.
I wish the Washington State graduation requirements had been explained to me. State requirements are rigid and Whatcom was inflexible with creative solutions to what I needed for a transfer degree.
I have yet to find anything to complain about at my school.
Anyone! Whatcom offers a variety of courses and opprotunities to broaden your education and horizions. Just by taking a few classes can open up doors for new and exciting experiences. Whatcom has an inviting and fun atmosphere, and the educatiors and advisiors are willing and able to offer advise and services to accompany a students needs. I enjoy attending Whatcom Community College, and I am sure that the variety of courses offered could entertain and educated a person of character and any genre.
HAHA this question is terribly set up. However I usually tell my friends about how cool the library is and how chill all the staff are. Also the Kulshan Building is the best.
