The most frustrating thing about Wheelock College is its price. As a private institution in Boston, it has very high tuition and room/board prices. This makes it difficult for students who come from poorer backgrounds to attend Wheelock, even though they want to receieve the best education they can. As an Elementary Education major, it is hard for me to accept the fact that I genuinely want to make a difference in the world, but it is hard for me to accomplish this feat due to my college's high prices.
The most frustrating thing about my school is how it is a school where people are supposed to be open and accepting, but often times people can be very close-minded. Because it is such a small school, everyone knows everyone, and they can be very judgmental. Older students are not always very supportive of younger students, and people can be quick to stereotype. I was not expecting that, and it’s frustrating that my expectations about the school are not reality.
The cost of school is really the most frustrating part. The school is about 30,000 before room and board, which for a student like myself with little money it makes it very hard to pay for. This frustration isn't just my college though, most colleges are very expensive, and witht he situation I am in I get little to no financial aid, and do not have the money to pay for it.
I think a common complaint is that here you have to maintain a C average in order to pass a class. It can feel overhelming because coursework can be tough, but teachers are understanding and always want you to pass. Just know that here it is easy to get an A, just apply yourself and know that you need to pass and try your hardest.
The most frustrating thing about Wheelock College, is the fact that the commuters have to pay 5.00 every day to get into the cafeteria in order to eat breakfast, lunch or dinner while the people who live on campus just have to pay 1 point.
The most frustrating thing about my school can be the food. Being vegan, there are some vegan foods offered, but not a huge variety. I do appreciate them using the money for bigger things, but it is a sarcifice that affects me directly.
The most frustrating thing about wheelock is that there is never parking around the riverway. If you want to park some where close you will have to pay.
Not having much in commun with the people that attend the school.
