Whitworth University Top Questions

What kind of person should not attend this school?

Heather

I believe that anyone could attend this school, however if you are a student of Ivy league material I would not recommend you choose this school because they are currently working on the Honors Program and are still developing more classes within the program. In addition, there is a limited amount of diversity on school campus; it is primarily comprised of wealthy white students, so sometimes people who do not come from those backgrounds tend to feel left out or picked on for lack of a better phrase.

Anyone who is not interested in learning about different worldviews or life in general should probably not attend this school because they will find deep information on a multitude of subjects that are very applicable to life. If you're not motivated to learn and grow, this could be a difficult place because, without effort, you would probably flunk out, but that can probably be said about any college.

Krista

Someone who does not believe in God or that Jesus Christ died for our sins would not appreciate the point of view that many students and professors have.

Patricia

If you are a person that is not interested in pursing a career in broadcasting or media, this is really not the school for you. The instructors are very passionate about what they do, and will push you to do your best and encourage you to get the most out of the learning experience, which could irritate a person that is not really committed.

Benjamin

One who is willing to evaluate their beliefs and not be afraid to take on new things or ideas.

Shaina

Non-Christians and homosexuals should avoid this school. It is not to say that they are not on campus or are not needed but Whitworth is a difficult campus to live on if you are different in those ways.

Emily

If you aren't looking for a smaller, close-knit community than Whitworth isn't right for you. It only has a little over 2000 undergrads so you know a lot of the people there. Some people just prefer a large college community.

Daniel

College challenges a person on every level that makes someone human, from the physical challenges of eating healthy and staying in shape to the emotional struggles of finding oneself. So then if a person is not ready to persevere through the fire that refines, they should not come to Whitworth.

De

If you want to go to a school with a lot of cultural diversity and liberal people Whitworth may not be the school for you. It is a small Christian university. Though you can find Christians with from all walks of life with different lifestyle opinions, it is not that diverse.
