William Carey is a great school that is dedicated to the success of their students. The professors are willing to help the students outside of the classroom to help them better themselves and prepare for the workforce. Financially, the university is willing to work with each student to ensure that he or she can continue their education.

Belisa - 10/05/2018

It is a great school. It has grown over the years since I graduated. It offers so many more different programs such as DO and Pharmacy. The classroom size are small so the teachers know you by name and is always willing to help. Which is a great thing for first time college students or for older adult learners.

Janeise - 07/18/2018

I think William Carey University is an amazing school and I can only hope of receiving the opportunity to attend.

Sarah - 01/18/2018

I really love Carey. It isn’t 100% perfect, but in my opinion, it’s as close as possible. The dorms are all kept up well, and you can always find someone to talk to. Professors are very accessible almost always. The classes my seem expensive, but they give nice scholarships. The only thing that is completely lacking is the cafeteria, but it is being worked on.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

Hey, you! Yeah, you with the glasses. I've got something to tell you. Put down your graphing calculator and listen up. I know you've been working hard trying to get all your homework done and all, and that's all great. But when you get to college, it takes more than just good grades for the kind of success that you want. You need to make sure that you spend some time getting to know the other kids in your major. They may have connections that could help you, and they'll be your colleagues after you graduate. It's always good to know people. Oh yeah, and make sure you talk to your professors if you have any kind of question or problem. They have so many academic, personal, and professional resources that they would love to share with you, but they can't help you if they don't know what you need. So let them know! Alright, you can go back to your math class now. Keep working hard, but don't forget what I told you!

This school is great academically, however, it has no social life for students living off-campus, and because it is a private Baptist college, it's administration can be quite close-minded.

  5. What kind of person should attend this school?

I am currently enrolled at a community college. So my advice would be for a student that needs assistance financially, loves the idea of a small class, and wants to gain personal relationships with its professors a community college is the best fit for that student. Community colleges are very managable routes to take to obtain a degree at a faster pace or to complete your pre-requisites for a certain major without the hassle of "breaking the bank".

  6. What's the most frustrating thing about your school?

The most frustrating thing about my school is the fact that we are on a faster pace than the rest of the colleges in our state. Instead of semesters we complete trimesters or 10 weeks of school, at a time. To me that is a little too fast to learn and actually retain the information learned.
