Now going by the name, William James College, I hold a very high opinion of the school. As a blended student in the Organizational and Leadership Psychology department, my experience has been life changing. The learning environment is supportive and engaging, creating a balance between laid back intellectual discovery and high standards for achieving excellence. Professors are all masters of their craft and provide us with real world cases to work with. They treat students as colleagues as opposed to underlings, and encourage us to freely debate the material in order to foster our own voices. By far the best experience I've ever had in higher education. I do wish their were on-campus housing options, but I hear that may be a possibility in the future.
Massachusetts School of Professional recently changed the name to William James College, but it continues to be a leader of psychology in the New England are. The school includes masters and doctorate level programs for anyone seeking to help their community and has a passion for mental health. We have several concentrations such as forensic, military mental health, global mental health and more. If you want to make a difference in the lives of others, this would a great place to start and learn from others.
This school is very liberal. I embrace many leftist views. However, when it comes to certain ideologies, mainly White Privilege and suggesting those with privilege should use it to help people who this ideology identifies as non-privileged (inc. speaking for them), this is where I find this school to be very dangerous. They don't realize it (maybe), but they are perpetuating white supremacy & undermining ethnic minorities, and I say this as a minority. The only minorities who will embrace this idea are those with a particular mentality that does not serve them, but serve white liberals. Because I have my dignity, I left the school. The education is also mediocre and disorganized. "I have reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's greatest stumbling block in his strike toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Counselor or the KKK, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to order than to justice." - MLK "The white liberal differs from white conservative only in one way: the liberal is more deceitful than the conservative." - Malcolm X
