Williams College Top Questions

What kind of person should not attend this school?

Gabrielle

Williams College is accepting and nurturing of all types of individuals. However, I would say that those who are not willing to jump headfirst into their education and take advantage of all the opportunities available, both in and out of the classroom, will not reap the benefits of a Williams experience.

Teresa

We often hear that keeping an open mind is a valuable characteristic of a person, especially in the modern world. At Williams College, it is even more valuable, even more important. Williams is the kind of school that if you aren't able to laugh when it rains a week, or enjoy your first snowball fight if you're from Hawaii, then you will not be able to take the risks and use those opportunities that will help you meet the friends of your life, truly discover your dream, and actually start building your life, one step at a time.

Bianca

People who are close minded and not open to new experiences.

Darlene

I person who must have a busy urban lifestyle.

Elizabeth

Someone who wants a big city or someone who wants a good bar or club scene (someone who wouldn't be satisfied with smaller house parties and more informal gatherings).

Anne

Someone who doesn't take academics seriously, has no interest in challenging themselves, and needs a large city environment (and/or a nightclub and bar scene) to be happy socially.

Bill

Intellectually curious, active outdoorsy type.

Jessica

Someone who isn't interested in a challenge; someone who prefers the practical to the theoretical; somone who could only live in a city or in warm weather.

Daniel

Someone who needs the nightlife of a city, or social activities beyond the college itself.

Brenna

Do not attend this school if you want any life off campus. If you love shopping, going out to clubs, warm weather, this is not the place for you. Don't come here if you want to study a romance language.

Anna

Someone who wants to blend into the background, or live the big-city life.

Jane

Someone who wants to be able to a) go clubbing on weekends, b) do lots of shopping in stores, c) not spend a lot of time on schoolwork. This would not be a good school for someone who a) thinks its okay to cheat on schoolwork, b)does not have an appreciation for athletic activities, or c) is intimidated by good-looking, intelligent, fit, motivated, perfect people (aka, the Williams student body).
