Wisconsin Lutheran College is a family. When you walk past someone they will always smile to you, which will brighten your day! The professors are all amazing. They take the time to work with you in and outside of class. They encourage you to come talk to them if you ever have any problems. The professors also try to incorporate Jesus into all of our classes. That is one thing that I am extremely blessed and happy about! The campus is extremely safe as well. Even though we are in Milwaukee, we are in a stretch that hardly has any crime! Overall, Wisconsin Lutheran College is a great college. It will leave me with more than just an education. It will leave me with friends, professors I will always remember, and a knowledge of God and how to apply that to the world. I am so blessed to attend this college!

My overall opinion of that I enjoyed my time at Wisconsin Lutheran College. Before i went for a visit, I didn't know how my experience would go. I didn't know if it was gong to be what like every other college that I have visited or worse. I was surprised by everything. The campus, teachers, and the food.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

Through my college experience I found myself. I entered school knowing that I wanted to be a teacher, but it was at WLC that I found my passion. My passion is urban education. Wisconsin Lutheran College is one of the only schools to offer this as a major and now as a graduate degree. I had a very insightful professor who saw gifts and talenets in me and led me into the world of this type of educating. I have now been teaching for 3 years in an urban setting and I could not be more happy. It is because of the kind and caring professors and the great education I received that I turned out to be the person I am today. I owe my happiness to Wisconsin Lutheran College and their caring professors.

  3. What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?

I wish I had known that there was and is potential for excelence that is readily available inside me. I must simply find the will to tap into it and achieve my potential. In highschool, I knew i was smart; however, I used my ability to skate by at the last moment. When I made the move to WLC, I was "pushed" to dig deeper in order to succeed. Instead of working to succeed, I strove for excellence. After a few semesters of "striving", I achieved 4.0 GPA. I wish I had known that a long time ago.

  8. What's the most frustrating thing about your school?

The most fustrating thing about Wisconsin Lutheran College is the cost of everything. Tuttion and housing is enough, but then add the meal plan. Which makes no sense sometimes. That is not all add books and sometimes you reach your breaking point, but this is where I want to be so I take out loans and financial aid helps a lot. Financial aid knocks tuttion and housing in half, but the meal plan is rediculous.

The thing that makes this campus unique and my top choice, was being that this school is very small and a private Christian college, the staff, students and the entire feel of the campus is supportive, friendly and so encouraging and helpful. It is the one thing that drew me in. Especially among the students, there is no stereotypes or segregation anyone, everyone is easy to make friends with. It really feels like everyone on campus wants the students to succeed and is always there to do whatever they can to help.
