I have visited other schools of architecture and so far the studio culture that I have experienced in Woodbury University has not come close to the others. The space felt suffocated, each student to their own. Although there is interaction within these other school's studios, competition was a driving factor that did create a division between students.
Woodbury is a small school with a ratio of student to instructors that is unmatched by lots of schools, the placement of it being in downtown San Diego is a big plus. Woodbury?s small number of students means everyone knows everyone, there is no one that I do not know either personally of just by name/face. Having a small class like this means that I get to know my professors and establish a relationship with them and maybe get help in finding a job or internship.
Small, professional.
