The worst thing about Xavier is their lack of additional sports and activities. Many of the friends I have made here were disappointed at the lack of baseball/softball teams, football team, and marching band.
Very degree focused school. If there was something social happening, it was almost exclusively the responsibility of the greek organization. The school also seemed highly focused on a very small particular set of majors. So in addition to being a pricey private university it isn't the greatest school to find yourself
The financial aid counselors are a joke. There are major problems with getting any assistance from them and there is some shady dealings going on with getting a financial aid packet. They tend to never want to work and will act as if a student is not doing their part. I've had money disappear and had to get my parents to call in to get my scholarship money back. They’re thieves at this school in the financial aid department. You have to be aware of what’s going on with your finances...ALL OF THE TIME!
The worst thing about Xavier University of Louisiana is the cafeteria food.
I feel like this school is too small and not open-minded to new ideas. I feel like this school needs to expand more. Also, I would like administration to be more open to student ideas for change.
I feel that the worse thing at my school is the lack of freedom that we have. I feel this way because we are all supposed to be adults yet they dont treat us as such.
I have nothing bad to say.
The worst thing about my school isnt anything in the school. Its the humidity that ridiculously crazy in the city of New Orleans.
Nothing...I may not like how things are runned sometimes and I wish they had more theatre classes, but I like it. The school is me. So I really can't say there is a 'worst thing'
The food in the cafeteria is not always the best.
The worst thing about my school is the streets. The streets get worse each day.
The worst thing about Xavier University of Louisiana is the meal plans. There is such a lack of variety and the food choices become very redundant really quickly. I think they should give the students more options on what they want to eat.
The tuition. This is my first time attending and it very expensive
the worst thing about my school is the over all curb appeal
The worst thing about Xavier is financial aid becuase they are not very friendly and they do not tell you about the things that may be going on with your finances they just do what they want to do.
The worst thing about my school is that we have no football team and our tuition is very expensive.
The worst part about the school is its location. Xavier is basically in middle of downtown New Orleans. At first it's fun because there's so much to do in this great city. After a while though the city almost becomes annoying. With living in a big city like New Orleans you get big city problems. There's heavy traffic all the time and constant construction everywhere, even on campus. It's not so bad, and for others, Xavier may sound like paradise but for a freshman trying to get used to being independent; there are alot of distractions.
Xavier does an excellent job of preparing students in the sciences, but as an institution fails to create an intellectually stimulating environment. Serious intellectuals will find the level of discussion base and insignificant, and will find disproportionate attention place on fraternity and sorority activities.
I have only experience one semster at Xavier UNversity of Louisiana. I live off campus and have not gotten the full experience of being a college student. Once I am finish with school I really want to get home home to make so type of progress on my work, so I really can not point out anything that is the worse. Academically its a great school that tries to prepare you for you intended career choice.
The freshman dorms are the worst part of the school because there are community bathrooms. Some people in the dorm are not as clean as others so the bathrooms are really gross.
Trying to get money from the school is terrible. The bursar's office, the financial aid department, these are all the worst departments and never get back to you in a timely fashion.
I believe the worst thing about our school is a lack of money given to students who are not poor but are not able to pay completly out of pocket. I think that coming from a middle class family is the worst class to come from because the lower class gets scholarships from the school or government. The high class students families are able to pay for college out of pocket, but me on the other hand have to rely on loans that are very expensive to pay back because I don't get any scholarships.
Since the school is fairy strict on academics, very class is prepared so that it thinks it?s the only class a student is taking. Meaning, there is so much work that needs to be put into one subject for the student to excel in its course. The school work is so abundant; it?s hard to have a social life. There aren?t many social events that the school promotes. I hardly ever see fraternities or sororities groups walking around or doing their cheers.
The school is pretty small so it seems that everyone knows almost too much about everyone else. The cafeteria food is not appetizing at all at least two days out of the week.
not enough on campus activities
The buildings are spaced out and can take a while to get to class.
Need smore extracurriculars.
There are too many rules. We are in college and are grown people. They need to treat us as such. I understand rules are important but some are just ridiculous.
The surrounding area becuase we are right by the ghetto the school restrictions on students living on campus.
The worst thing about my school is that it may focus too much on academics so we don't get the full college experience.
The worst thing about the school is that other departments on campus that aren't dealing wth science ar e very much under funded.
the worst thing about my school to me is the size and the fact it has such little sports.
