Small classes make for a great learning environment. This allows a student professor relationship to develop into a deeper level. With a small college it allows you to meet so many people you never would have thought of meeting before. You’ll make friendships that will last a life time with other students and professors.
The people are what win at this college. You will not find a more caring group of individuals whether it be the students, the faculty, or the community. These are people who will impact your life and become important connections once you are gone. The issue is that the facilities are outdated and the extracurricular activities are limited due to the community size. This is a small college but could definitely expand if more was offered and the buildings were re-done. They are slowly making the efforts to create a new and improved environment for incoming students. Maybe by the time my kids go to college it will be completely transformed. That is their mission: to transform. They are not far off. I am a better person after attending.
York College transforms lives. The daily chapel services, the family like atmosphere, the activities and the friendships are irreplaceable. The professors leave their doors open and invite you into their homes. The environment that York College creates helps students to grow professionally, spiritually and mentally as we offer a variety of services and opportunities allowing students to stretch more than they ever thought they could.
Great professors! Great student services always something going on at the college. Lots of fun activities.

If i could travel back in time, I would tell myself to invest more of my time by filling out every scholarship application that i qualified for and to invest my time in more important things. Leaving home to attend college will only strengthen your relationships with everyone you will leave at home. When you are given a great talent, make sure that you use that talent to help others grow closer to the person that they aspire to be. There is no such thing as choosing the right college, but more as choosing the college that makes you feel the most comfortable and welcome.
The kind of person that should not attend this college is someone who is not respectful of their peers and teachers and just don't try in their classes. There is no purpose for someone to be here if they are not willing to try. This college changes lives for sure, but people who attend here have to be willing to accept the diversity, support and love from the peers, friends and teachers that they have here. That is just something to expect when you are here. People will treat you fairly if you do the same thing to them.
York College is a very welcoming school that does its best to make sure that everyone gets exactly what they need in order to succeed in life.
The most frustrating thing is probably that it has a smaller amount of resources available compared to larger schools. It's a great college with amazing professors but we're not as up to date in the technology department as we could be. Also, there isn't really a campus recreation center where students can go to play a pick-up game of basketball, or anything else.
My classmates were great, diverse, and contributed alot to my growing worldview.
My college is know for it's Christ centered education and support for others. Everyone cares for each other and supports when they are down or when they just need someone to talk to. The support is there when you need it. Tutoring for classes comes in handy and is available when you need it. When I visited York College for the first time I realized that this is where I need to be, because things are different than most colleges when it comes to education and support. God put me here for a reason, & I am staying here.
Before I came to York, I wish I would have known exactly what kind of strain and tension distance adds to any type of relationship. I also wish I would have known how many great people I was going to meet because I would have began college with more excitement. I also would have liked to know how important it is to become involved in campus activities and how easy being involved makes it to meet people on campus.
I think the worst thing about York College is the actualy campus facilities. The dorms are outdated, the cafeteria (though updated) is small and others a small variety of food, and the other buildings are all well over 100 years old. I think that the upkeep of campus has been pushed to the background because of recent financial issues at the school, so the students suffer from subpar housing and classroom situations.
Anyone who is interested in getting a quality education with a spiritual emphasis should attend York College.
I tell my friends about the good athletics program, and the affordable of the classes. The counselors are also very helpful.
