While he may not follow the definition of a superhero held by most, Sherlock Holmes from BBC?s ‘Sherlock’ has a particularly useful superpower: the ability to gather complete control over himself, this coming in the form of his mind palace. In his mind palace, Sherlock is able to tune out the rest of the world to focus on solving a case, using his high intelligence to answer questions that most would never think of to begin with. He is able to exercise complete control over himself and his emotions on command. And such a power is one I desire. The world around me can feel quite overwhelming at times, especially since I have trouble dealing with stress and am often overwhelmed with my own thoughts and worries. Thus, the ability to take control of these and tune out the rest of the world is one I wish for.
