The number of recipients for this program varies according to the number of college students meeting the eligibility requirements in any given year. Last year, 21 scholarships were awarded.
The Illinois Minority Real Estate Scholarship Program (IMRESP) was created by the State of Illinois and is funded through grants from the Real Estate Research and Education Fund. The Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation has contracted with the Illinois Real Estate Educational Foundation (REEF) to administer this program. This scholarship cannot be used for reimbursement of previously attended courses and must be used within 24 months of the award date. Any remaining funds will be returned to the Illinois Minority Real Estate Scholarship Program (IMRESP) for use by other applicants. An individual who has received an IMRESP scholarship becomes eligible to apply for additional financial aid through IMRESP two years after receiving assistance through the program.
