Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board
The award is in the form of a tuition waiver that allows eligible students to pay a reduced tuition rate tuition cost. The award amount varies from institution to institution. Eligible students are allowed to pay a lowered non-resident tuition rate which must be at least $30 more per hour more than the resident rate. Please note: Beginning in fall 2014, legislation goes into effect that adds a grade point average requirement for persons to receive continuation awards through the program. The student should check with his/her institution for more information.
The number of awards offered varies annually. In previous years, approximately 500 awards were given.
