State of Wisconsin Higher Educational Aids Board
Awards range from $250 to $1,100 annually, renewable for up to five years (10 semesters).
The number of awards offered varies annually. In the 2012-2013 academic year (the most recent for which data is available), there were 786 awards given.
This program provides need-based grants to Wisconsin residents who are at least 25 percent Native American and are undergraduate or graduate students enrolled in degree or certificate programs at University of Wisconsin, Wisconsin Technical College, independent colleges and universities, tribal colleges, or proprietary institutions based in Wisconsin. Awards are based on financial need. Financial need is generally defined as the difference between the cost of attendance and the student's expected family contribution (EFC). The EFC is determined by using the information reported in the FAFSA.
