Number of Awards & Eligibility: Number of awards offered varies annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or have an immigration residency status that allows the applicant to qualify for federal financial aid after completing the FAFSA.
  3. Must be graduating from an accredited high school this academic year.
  4. Must have a grade point average of 2.4 or higher.
  5. Must be planning to enroll full time in a bachelor's degree program at an accredited higher education institution in the fall directly after his/her graduation from high school.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is for U.S. high school seniors who have a grade point average of 2.4 or higher and demonstrated financial need (e.g., Pell Grant eligible). Students must have participated in an eligible college readiness program during their junior and senior years of high school. Funds can be used for study abroad.

Additional Information: Applicants must have a demonstrated need for financial assistance and be eligible to receive a federal Pell grant in their first year of college. Application for the Pell Grant is made by filing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid), which is available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Students must have participated in an approved college readiness program during their junior and senior year of high school. Dell Scholars are students who demonstrate their desire and ability to overcome barriers and to achieve their goals. Each student's application will be evaluated on his/her: individual determination to succeed; future goals and plans to achieve them; ability to communicate the hardships he/she has overcome or currently faces; self motivation in completing challenging coursework; demonstrated need for financial assistance. The Dell Scholars will be announced in March.

Award Amount: $20,000 annually, non-renewable. Scholarship funds may be used for tuition, fees, books, and room and board. Upon the Foundation's approval, the recipient may also be able to use his/her funds for approved internships and study abroad programs.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $20,000.
