The purpose of this program is to promote the professional and educational needs of the state; increase the number of highly trained and educated professional accountants available to serve the residents of Texas; improve the state's business environment and encourage economic development and financial stability; and identify, recognize, and support outstanding scholars who plan to pursue careers in accounting. Eligibility for this program is determined by the financial aid office at the applicant's college. Funds may not be immediately available at the beginning of the semester. The applicant should contact his/her college financial aid office for additional information on eligibility of availability of funds. All applicants must meet the following criteria: be making satisfactory academic progress; register for the Selective Service or be exempt from this requirement; and demonstrate financial need.
