Number of Awards & Eligibility: One or two awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be a licensed radio amateur.
  2. Must be a resident of ARRL Central Division (IL, IN, WI).
  3. Must be a high school senior or older to apply for this undergraduate or graduate award.
  4. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  5. Must be seeking a degreee in agriculture, electronics, court reporting, history, broadcasting, communication or related fields.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is for a licensed radio amateur who is a resident of Illinois, Wisconsin, or Indiana and is pursuing a degree in one of the specified areas.

Additional Information: All ARRL Foundation scholarships are intended exclusively for educational use to provide assistance with costs of tuition, room, board, books and/or other fees essential to the advanced education of the recipient. Scholarships are awarded for the academic year that will begin no earlier than May 15 following the application deadline.

Award Amount: $500 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.

Applications are available on the American Radio Relay League (ARRL) Foundation website. In addition to a completed application, the applicant must submit a copy of his/her most recent academic transcripts, including SAT/ACT test scores. Transcripts must cover his/her entire high school career to date, and any college courses, for which grades have been awarded. If he/she is applying for graduate school assistance, high school transcripts are not necessary. International students should include any applicable standardized test scores. Applications will only be accepted electronically and must include a full and recent academic transcript which may be sent by email to [email protected].
