All fees and expenses associated with the private pilot course will be paid by the foundation.
One award offered annually.
This scholarship applies to obtaining a private pilot license only. It does not apply to instrument ratings or any other aspect of flight training. The scholarship is not intended for individuals already enrolled in a university-based flight program, which offers instruction in private pilot certification as part of the curriculum. In addition to all other specified criteria, the student must meet the following requirements: must read, write, and speak English to FAA standards; must be able to attain an FAA third-class medical certificate (the certificate will only be requested once the student has been selected for the scholarship); and must have dependable transportation and sufficient time available to complete training at the nearest Cessna Pilot Training Center. Only the selected winner is notified. He/she will be notified by registered mail and/or telephone.
