Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually. Last year, four scholarships were awarded.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be currently enrolled in a graduate program in maternal-child nursing.
  3. Must be a registered nurse.
  4. Must be a member of one or more of the following professional organizations: the Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN); the American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM); or the National Association of Neonatal Nurses (NANN).
  5. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  6. Must be currently enrolled in an eligible program at the master's or doctorate level with one or more academic terms to complete after August 2018.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is available for registered nurses enrolled in a graduate program for maternal-child nursing. Applicants must be members of one or more of the following professional organizations: the Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses; the American College of Nurse-Midwives; or the National Association of Neonatal Nurses.

Additional Information: Students cannot be previous recipients of the March of Dimes Graduate Nursing Scholarship. Employees of the March of Dimes, members of its board of trustees, and their family members are not eligible.

Award Amount: $5,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $5,000.

The application must be completed using a word processing program. The student must include a faculty recommendation and essay as part of the application; these items will not be accepted separately. The faculty recommendation must be from a current faculty member in the applicant's graduate program, and cannot exceed 300 words. The essay cannot exceed 500 words and must include the following sections (the sections must be labeled): educational plan; career goals and how they correlate with the March of Dimes mission; past, current, and planned involvement in maternal-child health; and why the student should be awarded the scholarship.If the recommendation or essay exceeds the lengths specified, the application will be rendered ineligible.The application and all additional materials should be submitted online, using the online application form available on the provider website, and must be completed by the deadline. Students should check the application for specific application submission instructions.
