National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution
The national awards are distributed as follows: the first-place winner will receive $5,000, a winning recognition plaque, airfare and a one night hotel for two at the annual congress; the second-place winner will receive $2,500; and the third-place winner will receive $1,000. All awards are made on an annual basis and are non-renewable.

Only one entry per student is permitted each year. Students are encouraged to review the website for more information on the number and type of references needed to complete the essay correctly. The essay will be judged on the following criteria: historical accuracy, clarity of thought, organization and proven topic, grammar and spelling, and documentation. The first-place national winner is prohibited from participating in following years' contests.
The applicant must submit an essay on an event, person, philosophy, or ideal associated with the American Revolution, the Declaration of Independence, or the framing of the U.S. Constitution. Students ... sign up for full scholarship deadline information.
