Description: This award is available for current high school and college students. To apply, each student must submit a short video of approximately 2-3 minutes on the topic of nuclear disarmament.

Application requirements for the Swackhamer Disarmament Video Contest are:

  • Video submission
  • Email notification
Additional Information: Videos will be judged on the basis of originality of ideas, community that will be served by the implementation of the proposal, knowledge and analysis of subject matter, insight, clarity of expression, organization and creativity.

Award Amount: $200 to $500 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $333.

Applications are available online from the Nuclear Age Peace Foundation website. Topics are announced on Feb. 1. In addition to the completed application, each student must submit short (2-3 minute) videos on an aspect of nuclear disarmament based on the year's topic. Students may submit their videos through Youtube or Facebook, but all entrants must also contact the foundation using the provided email address. This email must include the video’s title, the submitter's name, and preferred email address. All applications and videos must be submitted prior to the deadline date.
