Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually. Last year, 73 scholarships were awarded nationally.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a current resident of the United States.
  3. Must be a current high school junior.
  4. Must have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher.
  5. Must participate in an individual or team sport sponsored by a school or local club.

Description: The Triple-Impact Competitor Scholarship Program is a national program with regional recognition events. This scholarship is open to U.S. high school juniors who have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher. Students must participate in an individual or team sport sponsored by a school or local club.

Additional Information: The Triple-Impact Competitor Scholarship Program is a national program with regional recognition events. Local Selection Committees will select award recipients, and the number of scholarships will vary by region. All scholarship finalists will be notified via email in August of 2019. Scholarship winners will be announced at the local awards events in the fall/winter of 2019.

Award Amount: $1,000 to $2,000 annually, non-renewable. The award amount will vary by region.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,500.

Applications are available online on the Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) website. As part of the online application, the student must provide answers to three essay questions of 300 words or less. The essay topics are: how the student makes himself/herself a better athlete; how the student helped a teammate get better; and how the student honors the game. The student must also provide contact information for three references, to include a school administrator, a coach, and an individual who is familiar with him/her as a student-athlete and able to speak to his/her embodiment of the Triple-Impact Competitor principles. The student may also provide up to two additional references of his/her choosing. Applications must be submitted online by the deadline date. References must also be submitted by the deadline date.
