Number of Awards & Eligibility: Four awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be a high school senior at the time of application.
  2. Must attend Arlington, Beacon, John Jay, or Roy C. Ketcham High Schools in the Mid Hudson Valley region of New York state.
  3. Must participate in school or community sports.
  4. This award is for U.S. students.
  5. Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.

Description: This award is available for graduating seniors at Arlington, Beacon, John Jay or Roy C. Ketcham High Schools in the Mid Hudson Valley region of New York state. Applicants must participate in school or community sports, and demonstrate a commitment to community service.

Application requirements for the Norman and Rita Nussbickel Memorial Scholarship are:

  • Application form
  • Official Transcript
  • Student Aid Report
  • Recommendation letter
  • Essay
Additional Information: This scholarship was established in 1987 by the Nussbickel family and the Greater Southern Dutchess Chamber of Commerce’s Chamber Foundation in memory of Norman F. Nussbickel.  The scholarship also honors Norman’s wife, Rita, who passed away in 2006. The scholarship is awarded annually to graduating high school seniors at the selected schools who have demonstrated excellent academic and athletic achievement and have a meaningful record of community service.

Award Amount: $2,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $8,000.
