Additional Information: Race Entry is an online race entry and registration system provider and they provide this annual scholarship for the purpose of rewarding students who pursue self-improvement and healthy living through running and race participation. All submissions will be evaluated based on the quality of submitted essays, with judges paying particular attention to creativity, originality, and inspirational impact. Race Entry reserves the right to publish submitted work at the conclusion of the entry period in any manner Race Entry sees fit. Selection of winning submissions is entirely at the discretion of Race Entry. Winners will be notified by October 1st and awards will be provided upon verification of enrollment at an accredited college or university.

Award Amount: $500 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $500.

Applications for this award are accepted between January 1 and August 15, annually. Application instructions and essay guidelines for the Race to Inspire Essay Contest can be found online at the Race Entry website. To apply for this scholarship, students must write an original essay of between 1,000 to 2,000 words in length. Writing submissions must address the student's interests and history with running, such as why they began, what challenges they have overcome, and what they have learned. All essays must be submitted by email to the provided address. Email subject lines must read "Race to Inspire – Scholarship" and all submissions must be received no later than the deadline date.
