Additional Information
In 2000 Paul Kleidman, the father of three children who were 15, 13 and 8, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. For the next six years Mr. Kleidman continued to undergo chemotherapy and radiation all the while being a loving caring and involved father. During the six and a half years that he fought a courageous and inspirational battle, his children spent a large portion of their young lives watching their father's struggle and living on an emotional roller coaster, with his ups and downs also being theirs. As a result the children were affected emotionally, physically, and academically. In recognition of the struggle that a child of a parent with cancer undergoes this scholarship is offered in Paul Kleidman's name as a tribute to his children's valiant struggle as well as the struggle faced by children similarly affected. This scholarship is open to graduating seniors of Arlington High School who will be attending a 4-year college/university and whose life has been materially affected by the serious illness of a parent. The scholarship shall be applied to tuition costs at an accredited college or university in the United States.
