  1. This award is for U.S. and international students.
  2. Must be a graduating high school senior.
  3. Must attend Westlake High School in Austin, TX.
  4. Must be involved in and passionate about soccer.

Description: The Sharad Sood Memorial Scholarship is available for graduating seniors at Westlake High School in Austin, Texas who demonstrate a passion for soccer and an overall commitment to excellence.

Additional Information: The Sharad Sood Memorial Scholarship is provided in memory of Sharad Sood, an Austin resident who attended Westlake High School. Sharood was a passionate soccer player and started for the Westlake Varisty team for all of his four years at the school. After completing college and gaining a few years of employmente experience, he returned to Austin where he worked for Dell as a top performing employee with a contagiously positive attitude. To honor his memory and passions, Dell founded this scholarship and awards it annually to a graduating senior at Westlake High School who shares Sharad's love of soccer and his commitment to personal excellence in all fields. The Austin Community Foundation has provided more than $6.5 million in scholarship awards since the scholarship program began in 1996. Each year, more than 400 new awards worth in excess of $600,000 are provided through a variety of programs designed to assist students in the Austin, Texas area and beyond.

Award Amount: The award amount varies annually.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,000.
