Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen, national, or permanent resident.
  3. Must be a college freshman at time of application.
  4. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  5. Must attend one of the following eligible HBCUs: Bethune-Cookman University, Clark Atlanta University, Morehouse College, Spelman College, Tuskegee University, Xavier University of Louisiana.
  6. Must be majoring in one of the eligible fields listed on the UNCF website.

Description: This scholarship is open to U.S. college freshmen who are enrolled at selected HBCUs in an eligible major. Students must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

Additional Information: Toyota Motor Sales, USA, Inc. is recognized as one of the worldwide leaders within the automobile industry. Toyota has partnered with UNCF to provide scholarship opportunities within the targeted UNCF institutions.

Award Amount: Up to $7,500 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $7,500.

The application deadline date has not yet been finalized for this year, but is expected to remain the same as last year. The deadline date shown here is tentative based on last year's date. Please check back in late January for a refreshed application deadline date. Applications are available online on the United Negro College Fund (UNCF) website. Students must apply via the UNCF online application system and complete all parts of the application, including a one-page essay describing their career aspirations. Each student must also provide contact information for two references who will submit letters of recommendation on his/her behalf. One of the references must be familiar with the student's academic performance. The scholarship application closes at 5:00 p.m. EST on the deadline date.
