Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education
The award will cover the resident tuition cost at any participating institution in Oklahoma. Actual award amounts may vary depending on the type of college the student is attending and the enrollment status. Recipients are eligible to continue receiving tuition waivers until they reach 26 years of age, or upon completion of a baccalaureate degree or program certificate, whichever comes first.
The number of awards offered varies annually.
The Independent Living Act was established by the 2000 Oklahoma Legislature to ensure that eligible individuals who have been or are in the foster care program of the Department of Human Services receive services that include housing, medical coverage and education.
