Financial aid award amounts also vary depending on the amount of unmet financial need each individual student demonstrates. Awards are designed to meet 100% of each student's need, Last academic year, the average award amount was $49,141.


The number of awards provided varies annually depending on the number of enrolled undergraduate students as well as their financial need. Last year, more than 2,000 need-based scholarships and grants were provided.

Additional Information

All undergraduate students at Dartmouth who complete the FAFSA will be considered for financial aid based on their demonstrated financial need. Awards are designed to match the entirety of each student's unmet need. The expected cost for all students from households earning less than $100,000 is zero. Students in households earning more will continue to be eligible for aid so long as the FAFSA shows unmet need. Beginning in late November, students can check their financial aid status through Dartmouth's Application Management System.
