Society of Manufacturing Engineers Education Foundation
The minimum award amount is $1,000, but the student may receive a higher amount if more funding is available. This award is non-renewable. The scholarship can be used only as a credit toward tuition, fees or books.
Three awards offered annually. One award will be offered to an associate, bachelor and master degree candidate.
Preference will be given to a member in good standing of their respective SME Student Chapter or SME-Detroit Chapter One - The Founding Chapter. Applicants must demonstrate good character and leadership. Need is not a consideration in awarding scholarships except when two or more applicants have equal qualifications. The scholarship review committee and other ad hoc review committees will evaluate applications during March of the award year. Their recommendations for the top candidates will be presented to the SME Education Foundation Board at their annual meeting in May. Each applicant will be notified of the final decision by the end of June.
