Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a resident of Iowa (as defined by the Iowa State Board of Regents).
  3. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  4. Must be enrolled at an eligible private college or university in Iowa.
  5. Must be currently enrolled or planning to enroll at least part time (three hours minimum).
  6. Must be enrolled in an undergraduate degree program.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is available to Iowa students who are currently enrolled or planning to enroll in an undergraduate degree program at a private college or university in Iowa. Priority is given to applicants with the greatest financial need.

Award Amount: The statutory maximum award is set at $6,000, although the maximum award for an academic year may be less depending on the funding available and number of projected recipients. Recipients can receive grants for up to four years of full-time, undergraduate study. Part-time students may be eligible for adjusted amounts.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,381.

Program information is available from the Iowa College Student Aid Commission (ICSAC) website. To apply, students must file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA is available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov, at high school guidance offices, and in college financial aid offices. The FAFSA should be submitted as soon as possible after Oct. 1 but before July 1 for award consideration for the upcoming award year.
