American Board of Funeral Service Education
$500 to $2,500 annually, non-renewable. Students may apply once per calendar year for consideration.
The number of awards offered varies annually and is dependent on funding.
A student must have completed at least one semester (or quarter) of study in a program in funeral service or mortuary science education accredited by the American Board of Funeral Service Education in order to be eligible. If a student is in a coordinated program he/she is only eligible for an award during the period of attendance at the American Board of Funeral Service Education accredited institution. An eligible applicant must also have one or more terms or semesters remaining in his/her program which will commence after the award date (April or September) in order to be considered for a full award. Students with less than a full term of study remaining will be considered for partial awards. The scholarship committee takes into consideration these factors: financial need, academic performance, extracurricular and/or community activities, letter of recommendation, and the articulateness of the scholarship application. Applicants are notified approximately one month after the committee meeting.
Applications are available online from the American Board of Funeral Service Education (ABFSE) website. The student must complete the application online and submit additional materials by mail. Each ... sign up for full scholarship deadline information.
