The award covers 100 percent of tuition for students taking their first introductory-level ECE course. Additional full tuition awards are allowed for specific courses including Infant & Toddler Development and Early Childhood Special Needs. The award covers 50 percent of tuition for all other ECE courses. Awards are given per term and are non-renewable. Students may reapply each term in which they are eligible.
The number of awards varies based on the number of eligible students and the amount of funds available.
This grant program is available through a partnership with Granite State College and the Division of Children Youth & Families, Department of Health and Human Resources. Eligible students may receive assistance for one early childhood education (ECE) course per term. The goal of this program is to enable individuals working in the field to increase knowledge and skills to obtain and maintain the New Hampshire Early Childhood Professional Credential. By accepting funds through this program, the student must make a commitment to complete the course for which he/she receives tuition assistance. Students are also obligated to maintain employment within the field of early care and education for three months after the completion of the course. Failure to meet obligations will result in award repayment. Tuition assistance awards are not based on financial need. Students are responsible for all other expenses, including books and comprehensive fees.
