The award amount varies annually. Awards are non-renewable. All recipients must maintain the stated grade point for the first semester (or quarter if the school is on the quarter system) in order to receive a subsequent disbursement. Non-traditional students who have not been enrolled in a higher education institution for a period of three years shall be exempt from the cumulative grade point average requirement for the first semester (or quarter if the school is on a quarter basis) of the scholarship.

The scholarship is awarded primarily on the basis of a sincere desire for further education or training, and individual achievement as evidenced through the student's academic record, participation in outside activities, leadership roles, and/or work experience.
