Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency
Eligible students receive waivers that cover the expenses for tuition, fees, and on-campus room and board costs charged by public postsecondary institutions. This waiver applies only to charges that remain after all other grants (federal, state, and outside scholarships) have been applied. Awards may be renewed for up to four additional years, recipients must re-apply each year.
The number of awards offered varies annually depending on the number of eligible students. In the 2013-2014 academic year (the most recent year for which data is available), there were 11 awards disbursed.
This program honors individuals who lost their lives protecting the citizens of Pennsylvania by helping their children fund their education. Applicants must have already applied for available scholarships, as well as state and federal grants.
