Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually. Last year, eight scholarships were awarded.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  2. Must be continuing at his/her current college or will transfer to another accredited college in the fall of 2016. Please note: Recipients will receive funding only with official proof of enrollment for the fall semester.
  3. Must take a minimum of six units per semester.
  4. Must major in a landscape-related program.
  5. Must attend an accredited California community college or state university.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is available for current college students majoring in a landscape-related program and taking at least six credits. Students must attend an accredited California community college or state university.

Application requirements for the LEAF Scholarship are:

  • Application form
  • Recommendation letters (3)
  • Official Transcript
Additional Information: Applications will be independently reviewed by the members of the CLCA Auxiliary Scholarship Selection Committee. Criteria includes career goals, extracurricular activity, work experience, financial need, and letters of recommendation. Scores will be tallied and recipients chosen accordingly.

Award Amount: The award amount varies. Awards are non-renewable, but students may reapply.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,346.

Applications are available online on the CLCA Landscape Educational Advancement Foundation (LEAF) website. In addition to a completed application, the student must submit the following documents: three letters of recommendation, one of which must be from a current instructor or counselor (other letters may be from a current or recent employer, club/activity advisor, previous instructor, or church leader); and current official transcripts for all institutions attended. Letters and transcripts may be included in the application packet or sent directly to LEAF by the recommender or institution. Application materials may be mailed or emailed to the addresses provided. Mailed applications must be postmarked by the deadline date, and electronic applications must be received by the deadline date.
