The Virginia Space Grant Consortium (VSGC) is a coalition of five Virginia colleges and universities, NASA, state educational agencies, Virginia's Center for Innovative Technology, and other institutions representing diverse aerospace education and research. The VSGC acts as an umbrella organization, coordinating and developing aerospace-related and high technology educational and research efforts throughout the Commonwealth and connecting Virginia's effort to a national community of shared aerospace interests. The VSGC Community College Scholarship program is a competitive scholarship program, funded by NASA and the Commonwealth of Virginia, recognizing high academic achievement and promise. The goal of the program is to encourage talented individuals to pursue studies in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) at Virginia community colleges. Award selections are determined by a committee of VSGC representatives. Awardees will be required to provide a photo and biographical information upon selection, inform the Consortium of changes of address, respond to academic and employment follow-up surveys for Space Grant Community College Scholars, and may also be asked to discuss their studies in public forums. At the completion of the award period, awardees must submit a brief written report on their experience as a Virginia Space Grant Community College STEM Scholar.
Applications are available online from the Virginia Space Grant Consortium (VSGC) agency website. Students must apply during their freshman year of community college enrollment for an award that will ... sign up for full scholarship deadline information.
