Number of Awards & Eligibility: Five awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be enrolled in an aviation-related two-year or four-year degree program.
  3. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
  4. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  5. Must be enrolled at a NBAA/University Aviation Association (UAA) member institution. A list of eligible schools is available on the application.
  6. Must plan to use the scholarship funds for his/her sophomore, junior, or senior year.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is for students majoring in aviation who are entering their sophomore, junior, or senior year in college. The student must have a 3.0 grade point average or higher to be eligible.

Additional Information: Awards will be made to U.S. citizens without regard to sex, race, religion or national origin. Scholarship checks will be made payable to the school. Scholarship recipients must use the funds by Dec. 31, 2018 or risk forfeit of the award.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $5,000.

Applications are available on the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) website. In addition to the completed application, the student must submit the following: an official transcript from his/her college or university (if the applicant is a transfer student, previous college transcripts are recommended); a 250-word, typed, double-spaced essay describing his/her interest in and goals for a career in the business aviation industry; a letter of recommendation from a member of the aviation department faculty at the institution in which he/she is currently enrolled; and a current one-page resume that includes a permanent home address. The student must contact his/her department head or adviser for the institution's NBAA/University Aviation Association (UAA) membership number and include this information with the application. The application is not complete if these numbers are missing. Completed applications and required documents must be submitted online and received no later than the deadline date.
