Number of Awards & Eligibility: Two awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  3. Must be a second-year student.
  4. Must be enrolled at Santa Fe College.
  5. Must be enrolled in the SFC art program.
  6. Must reside in Alachua or Bradford counties in Florida.
  7. Must have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher.
  8. Must enroll in 12 or more credit hours.

Description: This scholarship is open to U.S. students who are enrolled full time in their second year in the Santa Fe College art program. Students must have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher and reside in Alachua or Bradford counties (FL).

Additional Information: The Norman Kenneth Jensen Scholarship was established in 2003 by Mr. Jensen and friends. Norman Kenneth Jensen taught in Florida's system of higher education for more than thirty years. His career at Santa Fe College began in 1968 and concluded with his retirement in 1993. During his twenty-five years of service to the College, Mr. Jensen taught art and humanities to countless numbers of students, many of whom are well-known practicing artists in the community and region. Students may apply for a maximum of three scholarships as long as they meet the established criteria. Students can receive only one scholarship award per academic year. Scholarships are applied to the academic year awarded. Scholarships are non-transferable. A thank-you note to the scholarship donor must be received before the award is posted to the student's account.

Award Amount: $1,600 annually, renewable for one additional year if the recipient maintains a grade point average of 2.5 or higher and full-time enrollment. The scholarship is awarded in equal installments for fall and spring terms.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $3,200.

Scholarship information is available on the Santa Fe College (SFC) website by clicking on the "Scholarships" link. Students must apply online via the STARS application system. Please note: To complete the application process, the student must provide his/her SFC ID number. An ID number is generated by submitting the SFC admissions application. Admissions information is available online at www.sfcollege.edu/admissions/. As part of the application, the student must submit a 100-word essay describing career goals and the benefits of receiving the scholarship. In addition to the application, the student must submit his/her official high school transcript to SFC Office for Development at the address provided if he/she does not have a college grade point average. Applications must be submitted by the deadline date.
