Florida First Generation Matching Grant Program (FGMG)

This award is available to Florida high school seniors and undergraduate students who are enrolled in at least six semester hours at an eligible Florida college or university. The applicant must demonstrate unmet financial need of $200 or more (as determined by the institution) and be a first generation college student.

Students must be of African, American/Black, Hispanic/Latino, Asian American/Pacific Islander, or American Indian/Alaskan Native descent, and plan to teach in a Florida public school upon graduation.

This scholarship is available to Florida students who graduate from Florida public community/state colleges with an A.A. degree and plan to transfer to the University of North Florida. This merit-based scholarship is automatically awarded to Florida resident students who graduate from a Florida high school and receive the designation of National Merit or National Achievement Scholars. Public Education and Citizenship Committee Statewide Essay Contest

This award is available for Florida high school seniors who are planning to attend a state university, community college or any division of higher learning supported by the state of Florida. Students must be willing to write a 1,000-word essay on 'Why Education is Important.'
