Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually. Scholarships are limited in number. They are competitive and are awarded annually on a rolling basis early in the scholarship cycle.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must enroll full time (12 or more credit hours per semester).
  3. Must be an incoming transfer student.
  4. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  5. Must transfer from a Florida College System institution.
  6. Must plan to attend Florida Atlantic University.
  7. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is available to U.S. students who will graduate from a Florida College System institution and plan to transfer to Florida Atlantic University. The student must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

Application requirements for the FAU Community College Scholars Award are:

  • Application form
  • Essay
  • Recommendation letter
Additional Information: Meeting minimum requirements does not guarantee a scholarship. Scholarships offered through the Office of Undergraduate Admissions are not stackable.

Award Amount: $3,000 annually, renewable for up to five semesters or until graduation. This award is disbursed in equal installments of $1,500 per semester.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $7,500.

Applications are available online at the Florida Atlantic University (FAU) website. Please note: The student must provide his/her FAU Student ID on the application. The ID is generated upon submission of an admissions application. As part of the online application, the student must write a personal essay on a topic of his/her choice. The student must also submit a letter of recommendation from a Florida College System institution advisor. The transfer scholarship application deadline is March 1.
