The student must demonstrate financial need greater than $0 after deducting the student's Expected Family Contribution and Federal Pell Grant Award from the Cost of Attendance.

Stephen T. Kugle Scholarship

U.S. college sophomores or juniors currently enrolled in a public college or university in one of the states in ASME District E (Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas, Utah, and Wyoming) are eligible for this award. Students must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher and major in mechanical engineering.

This award is for U.S. students who have applied for admission to the University of Louisiana at Lafayette as entering freshmen and are Louisiana residents. Students must have been designated as the valedictorian of their high school graduating class.

The student must have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher and an ACT composite of 23 or higher or an SAT composite score of 1050 or higher.
