Number of Awards & Eligibility: There is not a set number of awards offered annually. *Please note: The number of recipients will be determined by the number of first-time students accepted into the program. The scholarship is awarded automatically to all first-year, first-time students accepted into the Honors Program. Upper-class students who transfer college credits to the University of Nebraska may be awarded the scholarship on a competitive basis.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  2. Must be a full-time student.
  3. Must plan to attend the University of Nebraska - Lincoln and enroll in the Honors Program.
  4. Must be a graduating high school senior or transfer student.
  5. Must attend a college or university in Nebraska.

Description: Graduating high school school seniors and transfer students planning to enroll full time at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln are eligible for this award. Applications are available online from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln website.

Application requirements for the University of Nebraska – Lincoln University Honors Program Scholarship are:

Additional Information: The University of Nebraska - Lincoln University Honors Program provides a challenging and creative academic program for talented and highly motivated students. The scholarship covers the cost of all required textbooks.

Award Amount: Approximately $250 per semester ($500 annually), renewable for up to 120 credit hours, four years or the completion of a bachelor's degree provided the student remains in good standing in the Honors Program.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,000.

Application to the University Honors Program is separate and independent from application to the university. Each applicant must first apply for admission to the university online or download and print the application form. The Honors Program application can be accessed at MyRED once the student has received his/her NU ID by email from the Admissions Office (usually within one business day). In addition to applying to the Honors Program, the student must have two recommenders submit recommendation forms available on the Honors Program website. Each student is encouraged to apply to the program by Oct. 15. The second and final application deadline is Feb. 15.
