$2,500 annually, non-renewable. This scholarship also includes a travel stipend to attend the ALA Midwinter Conference.

Additional Information

The scholarship was created in memory of Peter Lyman, former university librarian and professor emeritus of the School of Information at the University of California, Berkeley. Factors considered in making these awards include: academic excellence; leadership; and evidence of commitment to a career in librarianship. Achievement in these areas may best be demonstrated by statements indicating the nature of library and other experience, by professional references, and by the personal statement included in the online application. Recipients will be contacted by phone after June 1. All other applicants will be notified by mail after July 1.
