Number of Awards & Eligibility: One or two awards offered annually. Last year, two awards were given.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  3. Must be a college junior or senior who has one or more remaining semesters/quarters of study to complete his/her degree from the time the scholarship is awarded for the upcoming academic year.
  4. Must enroll full time.
  5. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  6. Must pursue a career in advertising and major in one of the following courses of study: business with a marketing emphasis; journalism with an advertising emphasis; strategic communications; advertising and marketing; graphic design, fine art, photography, illustration while maintaining a career focus in advertising, marketing, or public relations.
  7. Must be a resident of New Mexico.
  8. Must be enrolled at a New Mexico four-year nonprofit or public educational institution.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: New Mexico college juniors or seniors who plan to pursue a career in advertising are eligible for this award. Students must attend a New Mexico postsecondary institution full time and have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

Additional Information: The American Advertising Federation-New Mexico (AAF-NM) Scholarship Fund has been established to provide scholarships to deserving men and women who intend to enter the advertising profession.

Award Amount: Up to $1,400 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,400.

Applications are available online from the Albuquerque Community Foundation website. In addition to the completed application, the student must submit the following materials: a resume including education, employment, community service, and awards or honors (maximum four pages); a current official transcript through the spring term of the current year; a personal essay outlining his/her career goals; and up to two letters of recommendation from current and/or recent instructors or employers. Applications must be submitted online and must be received by the deadline date.
