Number of Awards & Eligibility: Four awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  2. Must be a full-time student OR be 24 years of age or less.
  3. Must study or have studied photography.

Description: This scholarship competition is open to full-time photography students or photographers who are 24 years of age or younger. Applicants must submit a photo portfolio and a proposed photo story they will shoot if a winner.

Application requirements for the Ian Parry Scholarship are:

Additional Information: The winning entrant's work, as well as the work of those selected as Highly Commended or Commended, will be exhibited in London. In addition to the scholarship, the winning entrant will also receive the following: publishing of his/her work by the Sunday Times Magazine; a choice of equipment from Canon; acceptance onto the final list of nominees for the Joop Swart Masterclass offered by World Press Photo in Amsterdam; addition to the Reportage by Getty Images' Emerging Talent group; and the offer of an all-expenses paid assignment by Save the Children.

Award Amount: $3,500 per scholarship  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $14,000.

The application deadline date has not yet been finalized for this year, but is expected to remain the same as last year. The deadline date shown here is tentative based on last year's date. Please check back in late April for a refreshed application deadline date.Applications are available online on the Ian Parry Scholarship website.In addition to a completed application, the applicant must submit the following materials: a Word document of no more than one A4 page describing the photo story he/she would like to shoot if he/she wins the scholarship (must be original with a budget and references); and a portfolio of 12 images shot over the last year. The images should ideally be a photo essay but can be single images. Caption information, the applicant's name, and the date should be stored in the metadata.The applicant may submit his/her application materials via email to [email protected] Applications must be submitted by the deadline date.
