U.S. graduating high school seniors from Chapel Hill High School in North Carolina are eligible for this award. Students must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher and demonstrate participation in the high school's music department.

This award is for U.S. and international undergraduate students who are studying a computer-related field at a North American university. Selections are primarily based on the quality of research projects.
